Overview

Chantecaille is a company that specializes in the production of choice skincare and cosmetics. Chantecaille was initially founded by Sylvie Chantecaille in 1997 as a manufacturer of fragrances before eventually becoming a family business of the Chantecaille in the city of New York. It was founded with the aim to produce cosmetic products using botanical ingredients which forms the inspiration of the company’s support for the environmental causes.

The majority of Chantecaille products are made from the combination of Chinese medicine, aromatherapy, flower pharmacology and biotechnology.  Some of the products manufactured by Chantecaille are Biodynamic lifting cream and stress–repair concentrate.

Chantecaille is famous for its Nano Gold Energizing Cream which incorporates pure gold along with other exotic ingredients. Expect to pay over $400 for this product.

Positives:

Negatives:

  • Price – The products are very expensive
  • No definitive research to back up claims has been found.
  • No use of a Collagen complex
  • No incorporation of an anti-ager such as Argireline or Hyaluronic Acid

Chinese flowers, soybean extract, grape seed oil, and in the case of the Nano Gold Energizing Cream, gold.

Our Conclusion:

A highly cosmetic based skin care range with numerous foundations and eye liners among others. It is also another company to experiment with exotic ingredients such as gold however the effectiveness remains to be seen. We generally like to stick to well known anti-aging ingredients however if you have money to burn on something extremely exotic give the Nano Gold Energizing cream a go!

If I am having a “good skin” day, this foundation works well for me. If I am having a “bad skin” day, it doesn’t give enough coverage. It doesn’t camouflage my big pores as well as some other foundations. I also wonder if germs are multiplying in the foundation due to the packaging. (It is packaged in a tub). It doesn’t have any oil controlling properties, so I need to use powder on top. The formulation feels nice going on my skin (it feels cool). You get a lot of product in the tub. I have been using it for 1 year & 1 month everyday, and I am only halfway thru the jar. It doesn’t seem to break me out.
