Overview:

The Vichy Skin Care line of products is a  is a premium brand of skin cosmetics founded in 1931 and named after the French town , Vichy. Interestingly the Vichy town is know for its hot springs and its these very springs which make up the companies water source for its cosmetic products. Vichy is currently owned by cosmetic giant L’Oreal and is branded Vichy Laboratories in its marketing.

Vichy has a relatively large number of products in its skin care armor with 10 moisterizers and 4 specific eye care products. The main anti-aging ingredients used are that of Pro-Xylane (anti-ager and hydrating element) and Isobioline (similar ingredient to collagen). Retinol is also used in its Reti-C Intensive Corrective Care and Reti-C Eyes Intensive Corrective Care products. As mentioned in other reviews Retinol can be an irritant so before selecting these product check to make sure the product will not irritate your skin.

We have no doubt that Vichy Skin Care and Vichy Laboratories have some good products in their anti-aging and wrinkle cream line up. Many users have had a positive experience so that is a good thing. However we do like to see the key anti-aging ingredients being used in all good anti-aging and wrinkle creams. In addition to this Vichy don’t have a specific ‘regime’ or routine in place to help the users with their anti-aging efforts. Many supporting products need to be purchased and used in conjunction with one another rather than having a product with a 2-3 step application that comprises of a full skin care regime. Not only is this a hassle and can in some cases result in confusion for the user, it can also lead to an increase in overall expenses.
